Role Summary

As a Medical Assistant in the Emergency Department at UnityPoint Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Your primary responsibility will be to support the healthcare team in achieving patient care outcomes and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with RN/LPN and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Perform specific tasks as directed by RN/LPN and other healthcare team members.
  • Accurately obtain, record, and enter data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team by presenting timely and concise information.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a formal nursing program.
  • Completion of introductory clinical nursing course with a clinical component.
  • Able to identify patient needs and implement nursing care for a group of patients under the supervision of an RN/Clinical Instructor.
  • Fully proficient in written and spoken English.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is subject to change based on various factors, including location and market conditions.
