Job Overview

The GBYMCA is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Education Leader to oversee the development and implementation of our Early Childhood Program. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership and support for employees, including Assistant Director, Early Childhood Coordinator, and teaching staff.
  • Work closely with HR and Marketing to identify staffing needs, manage the hiring process, and develop recruitment plans.
  • Foster growth and development among staff, including setting goals, providing ongoing support, and conducting regular check-ins.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing, accreditation standards, and YMCA policies.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and advocate for early childhood education at the local and state level.
  • Manage the center's operating budget, PTO systems, payroll, and handbooks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary or Early Education, Human Development, or a related field.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Program Director Step 2 certificate, successful completion of three college credit courses in curriculum and an additional nine credits in program management, staff supervision, administration, or human resource management.
  • Vermont Early Educator License is preferred.
