Job Summary:

The Shag Driver will be responsible for safely operating a shag truck, pulling and backing 48 and 53-foot trailers. This role requires compliance with Federal, State, County, City, OSHA, and Company rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and be able to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate shag truck on and off company property
Maintain required safety and ergonomic processes to ensure a safe working environment
Physically wash out trailers as needed
Set reefer units at proper temperatures
Assist traffic office as needed
Maintain truck cleanliness and track truck maintenance as needed
Understand and perform inspections of equipment as required by USDOT rules and regulations

Requirements:

Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
High School Diploma preferred but not required
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
Ability to work in a diverse workforce and maintain effective working relationships with peers and management

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. Exposed to outside weather and temperatures.

Physical Demands:

Multiple actions in and out of truck to hook up and unhook trailers. Steps up and down from truck cab. Will occasionally park trucks; pull and lift up to 100 pounds.

Normal Work Schedule:

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
