About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Engineering Specialist to join our team at SPS Consulting, LLC. As a key member of our fire protection engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring comprehensive fire safety through technical assessment, engineering solutions, preventive programs, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead comprehensive inspections of fire protection systems, including alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and emergency equipment.
  • Design and evaluate complex fire protection engineering solutions for new construction and building modifications.
  • Develop and implement fire prevention programs, including staff training, emergency response procedures, and evacuation protocols.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and building codes.
  • Review and approve fire protection system plans and specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience in fire systems inspection, engineering, and compliance.
  • NFPA 72, NICET certification and/or Fire Inspector certification.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, OSHA regulations, and local building codes.
  • Understanding of US compliance and host country compliance.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
Work Environment:

This role requires a mix of office work and field inspections. One week of travel to Germany in December is required. You must be able to access confined spaces and climb ladders.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. SPS Consulting, LLC offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
