Job Summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a highly skilled Refugee Resettlement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Refugee Resettlement Program, you will provide critical support to refugees and asylum seekers, helping them to navigate the complex process of resettlement and integration into American society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services to refugees and asylum seekers, including intake, assessment, and documentation of client information.
  • Screen clients for eligibility for various programs, including Refugee Cash Assistance, Refugee Medical Assistance, and Social Adjustment Services.
  • Collect and upload client eligibility documents, monitor client compliance with program requirements, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with local health departments, social services offices, mental health providers, and other service providers to establish referrals and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Ensure language and cultural competency, mental health, and social services in support of program goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in case management services or a related field.
  • Bilingual communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written means.
  • Ability to present a positive demeanor to individuals, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, and the general public.
  • Ability to remain calm during difficult circumstances and emergencies.
  • Efficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
