Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and be passionate about providing individualized educational and behavioral programs.

About the Role

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for designing coherent instruction based on knowledge of subject matter, students, and their individual needs. They will plan instruction to achieve desired objectives that reflect the Virginia Standards of Learning and division curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Designs and implements individualized educational and behavioral programs for students with ASD
  • Develops and monitors IEP's, selects appropriate materials and resources to match student abilities and needs
  • Communicates specific student performance expectations and documents learning gains using assessment instruments
  • Fosters a safe and positive environment for students and staff
  • Manages and directs teaching assistants and school community trainers to ensure compliance with implementation of classroom procedures and student plans
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience in teaching students with ASD
  • Knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning and division curriculum
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $54,146 - $87,985 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
