Position Summary:
Quartz is on the lookout for a skilled and energetic business news journalist to report on significant market developments across various sectors and regions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate story ideas, accept assignments, report, and write timely business news articles, ensuring high-quality and prompt delivery.
  • Enhance audience engagement through your journalism by applying digital best practices and innovative storytelling methods.
  • Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with editors and fellow reporters throughout the newsroom.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a reporter for a digital news organization, with a preference for business news experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple stories of varying types and speeds across different topics.
  • Some familiarity with digital best practices, including story selection, framing, and SEO, is preferred.
  • A strong enthusiasm for timely news and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement with the WGA-E, offering a minimum salary of $63,000.00, with a potential range up to $65,000.00 annually, based on relevant experience.
