About the Role

Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Coordinator to join our Transplant Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in coordinating all aspects of solid organ procurement, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with transplant physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan for the correct disposition of organ offers suitable for transplant, identifying and articulating when organs are not acceptable.
  • Collaborate with transplant physicians, surgeons, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely communication of patient listing status, blood type, HLA interpretation, donor-specific antibodies, and other critical information.
  • Coordinate care at the time of donor organ offer, including transportation to the transplanting facility, and ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and protocols throughout the procurement process.
  • Perform nursing and administrative duties, including collaboration with on-site Organ Procurement Coordinators, coordination of surgical procurement, and arrangement of transportation for the Procurement team and each Mayo accepted organ.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Bachelor's degree in a nursing program required.
  • Minimum of three years of RN experience required.
  • At least two years of experience as a Transplant or Procurement Coordinator is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) or Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) preferred.
