Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Texas Woman's University. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, including buildings, apartments, lounges, offices, bathrooms, classrooms, and other areas.

This is a hands-on position that requires continuous physical activity, involving tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and related custodial maintenance. You will work under supervision, with performance evaluated based on completion of assignments and results obtained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and sanitizing floors, hallways, stairways, furniture, windows, fixtures, and other features.
  • Maintaining restrooms, replenishing supplies, measuring and mixing cleaning solutions.
  • Stripping, waxing, and polishing floors.
  • Operating vacuum cleaners and buffers, emptying trash containers, and depositing trash for pick-up.
Additional Duties
  • Assisting with unloading and distribution of supplies and materials.
  • Monitoring and requisitioning supplies and materials.
  • Reporting needed repairs and property damage.
  • Performing other duties as requested.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Some related experience preferred.

You must also possess strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively deal with students, staff, faculty, and visitors while performing duties.
