About the Role

Cleveland Clinic's Women's Health Institute is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Work closely with the surgical team to maintain aseptic conditions and ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in the intraoperative 'timeout' to ensure accurate patient identification and procedure verification.
  • Collect and label specimens removed during surgical procedures and hand them over to the circulator for disposition.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to count all sponges, instruments, and other materials at appropriate times during surgery.
Requirements
  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Preferred qualifications include certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical Technology (TS-C).
