Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The LPN will participate in the nursing process to administer nursing care under the direction of the RN. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting data, planning, and implementing patient/resident care and assist with throughput initiatives to enhance the patient and customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the LPN include:
- Obtaining and validating medication reconciliation on admission and discharge
- Discharge focused teachings delegated by RN
- Assist with wound care
- Assist with safe patient ambulation
- Role model customer service excellence and related initiatives
- Mentor Patient Care Techs and is an active preceptor to PCTs
- Active in unit base council activities/initiatives
- Obtaining vital signs and focused patient assessment
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school for practical nursing
- Healthcare experience preferred
- License to practice nursing LPN in the state of Virginia
- AHS BLS-HCP required
- May be required to obtain/maintain AHA BLS based on specific work unit
