Procurement Strategist

The Procurement Strategist will play a pivotal role in driving strategic sourcing initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to meet production requirements. This position demands expertise in both tactical purchasing and strategic planning, requiring the Procurement Strategist to oversee the procurement process from sourcing to delivery.

• Sourcing and Supplier Management
  • Conduct thorough research and select products, negotiate pricing, and build lasting relationships with suppliers.
• Collaboration
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal departments, including engineering and quality assurance, to ensure seamless production operations.
• Order Management
  • Process requisitions, track orders, maintain optimal stock levels, and update inventory records accurately.
• Performance Monitoring
  • Analyze supplier performance, track deliveries, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain high-quality standards.
• Demand Management
  • Adjust orders dynamically to accommodate demand fluctuations, expedite shipments as necessary to prevent delays.

• Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement/planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Technical Proficiency
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems; familiarity with tools like PTC Arena/Onshape, Fishbowl, or Retool is highly desirable.
• Industry Knowledge
  • Experience in automotive, medical device, or electronics purchasing is highly preferred.
