Job Description

AppleOne is partnering with a municipality to fill an Accounting Clerk position.

Job Title: Accounting Technician

Start Date: November 4th

Length of Assignment: Contract 960 hours

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm or 7:30am-6:00pm (40 hours per week)

Pay Range: $34.77 per hour

Responsibilities:

Day-to-Day:

  • Cash Receipts / review and reconcile forte reports/check deposits/cc batches
  • Pay utilities when due

Monthly:

  • Create cover sheets/excel sheets for wires (typically takes 2 days)
  • Review Payroll batches for the month/scan/attach in SB and commit
  • Compile all Wire payments for the month and process Computer Checks
  • Sheriffs deposit once a month or when Lieutenant brings in the deposit

Additional Tasks:

  • Petty cash when needed /petty cash needs to get reconciled/replenished every quarter
  • Order finance supplies
  • Order new WEX gas cards/issue pins for new employees
  • Manage employee users with Amazon/Staples accounts

Qualifications:

  • Ability to commit to the entire contractual hours (960 hours)
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting preferred
  • 1+ year experience in a similar position
  • Municipality experience preferred
  • Advanced user on Microsoft Excel
