Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Human Resources Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to our recruitment and staffing efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive human resources programs to support the recruitment and staffing needs of the Department of the Navy.
  • Provide guidance and advice to subordinate supervisors and activity managers on human resources functional programs, including staffing, classification, and placement.
  • Manage the workload of merit promotion recruitment and/or delegated examining recruitment teams by conducting reviews of workload reports and databases.
  • Conduct ongoing statistical analysis of workload and internal work processes to ensure production and accuracy.
  • Exercise personnel management through subordinate supervisors.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate the following:

  • Providing direction and advice to staff members on complex human resource related issues.
  • Developing new or modified Human Resource work methods, approaches or procedures for delivering effective recruitment services to customers.
  • Providing detailed qualifications determinations and justifications in cases where qualifications disputes are elevated for higher level review.
  • Managing the workload of merit promotion recruitment and/or delegated examining recruitment teams by conducting reviews of workload reports and databases.
