Transform Lives as a High School English Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English teacher to join our team at Uncommon Schools. As a High School English teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment that fosters students' love of literature and promotes their academic growth.

About the Role

You will teach from a rigorous and inclusive curriculum that emphasizes diverse texts, encourages critical thinking, and prepares students for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate-level coursework. You will develop students' independent and collaborative reading, writing, and discussion skills, and facilitate student-led discourse that teaches them to use evidence to make sophisticated claims and synthesize arguments.

  • A competitive salary range of $65,000 - $95,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
  • Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or other related fields of study
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
