Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Coding Specialist to join our revenue cycle team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant coding of patient records for billing purposes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and health insurance provider rules and regulations. They will work closely with billers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of coding processes.

Responsibilities
  • Code and abstract patients' medical records for professional billing
  • Review patient records retrospectively and concurrently for coding and sequencing accuracy
  • Assist with coding requests and questions from billers
  • Serve as a resource for difficult coding questions and assist with insurance denials
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and insurance industry regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one to two years post-high school education preferred
  • Minimum two years current experience with ICD-10, CPT coding, and health insurance provider rules and regulations
  • Coding certification required
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and computer information systems required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions within hospital guidelines
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
