Radiology Technologist Level I Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Level I to join our team in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist Level I to perform a variety of radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient radiation protection and safety.
  • Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician orders, and process images to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with Radiologists as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

The Radiology Technologist Level I will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, lifting, and bending. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance is required. The position may also involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
