Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at LifePoint Health, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and indirect patient care in a fast-paced office/clinic setting. You will maintain regulatory requirements, nursing and office/clinic policies, procedures, and standards. This position requires effective communication with physicians and team members about patient conditions, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. You will collect and process blood specimens for testing in the Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, injections, and other medical procedures.
  • Collect and process blood specimens for testing in the Laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and laboratory results.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and team members about patient conditions and laboratory results.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, nursing and office/clinic policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements:
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Completion of Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Language Skills:
Able to communicate effectively in English.
