About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse Specialist to join our team at HealthAlliance Hospital. This is a per diem position with varying shifts, including days.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse, in collaboration with the healthcare team, is responsible for providing high-quality patient care by demonstrating clinical competence, participating in ongoing quality assessment, and providing direction to ancillary staff in an acute care facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment – Conduct thorough and ongoing nursing assessments, identifying and prioritizing current and potential problems, developing individualized treatment plans, and documenting problem identification on admission.
  • Patient Care/Discharge Planning – Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet patients' present and discharge needs, evaluating, revising, and documenting treatment plans.
  • Teaching – Demonstrate knowledge of psychotropic medication regimens, teaching staff and patients essential medication information.
  • Communication – Process and interface appropriate information between healthcare teams and patients, ensuring quality patient outcomes.
  • Treatment/Procedures – Perform treatments and procedures according to established policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed with R.N. in the State of New York, with 3-5 years of psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Experience: Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice, sound clinical skills, and knowledge of hospital structure, objectives, and standards of practice.
  • Training/License: New York State Registered Nurse license required.
Compensation

The estimated hourly salary range for this position is $42.41-$64.41, depending on experience.
