Companion Part-Time Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Companion Part-Time Support Specialist to join our team at The Chesapeake in Newport News, Virginia. As a key member of our care team, you will provide non-medical support services to our residents, including safe and efficient accompaniment to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide escort services to and from medical appointments, visits with friends, and other outings
- Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and personal shopping
- Prepare meals and snacks for residents
- Offer companionship, conversation, and entertainment to residents
- Participate in on-the-job training and regular in-service training sessions
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- One of the following certifications: PCA, NA, or CNA
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working with elderly patients and those with special needs
