  • Position Highlights:

The Senior Molecular Genetics Specialist performs DNA/Molecular genetic testing in a clinical and research laboratory. Utilizing scientific principles and technical expertise, you will handle day-to-day laboratory operations, quality control, procedure/instrument maintenance, corrective action, test result correlation, and continuing education related to clinical laboratory practices.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, biological science, molecular biology or an appropriately related field from a regionally accredited college/university is required.
  • Experience/training in modern molecular genetic techniques in a clinical and/or research molecular laboratory is preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Molecular Biology (MB) from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent agency is required within 18 months of hire.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks.

Compensation:

The hourly range for this position is $27.50 - $41.50 per hour. Actual hourly rate may vary based on experience.
