Job Summary

This position is responsible for the inventory management activity for assigned departments or clinical programs. It includes distribution and inventorying of supply areas to ensure the correct medical products and linen and equipment are stocked and ready for clinical use.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform inventory control on stock and non-stock items, set par levels, identify and adjust to trends for assigned units.
  2. Order and deliver supplies for assigned departments, facilities, or clinical programs using appropriate technology, systems, and suppliers.
  3. Process all applicable documents, including freight bills, bills of lading, packing slips, and other relevant documents, according to Intermountain policy and procedure.
  4. Communicate information concerning supply levels, new products, standardization, and implementation to relevant department staff.
  5. Restock supplies in identified storage locations, considering shelf life and product rotation.
  6. Monitor quantity on hand issues and reconcile discrepancies.
  7. Utilize the SCIS system to manage distribution, inventory, receiving, departmental files, and reports.
  8. Ensure compliance with policy and standard operating procedures.
  9. Research and resolve SCIS-related problems for assigned inventories and coordinate with stakeholders or clinical programs and SCO Business Applications Team.
  10. Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports for assigned locations.
  11. Assist with and oversee inventory management processes, including cycle counting and PDA Relief inventory process.
  12. Support Intermountain Healthcare's Supplier Standards.
  13. Understand and apply appropriate Supply Chain standard operating procedures.
  14. Clean, track, and test patient mobile medical equipment.

Requirements

  • Some roles may require certification.
  • One year of related Materials Management experience or a minimum of six months in the inventory specialist II title and have completed all of the requirements for the established career progression program for the next level within the inventory titles.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and speak English clearly, follow verbal and written instructions, and understand customer communications.
  • Experience using basic word processing, spreadsheets, internet, e-mail, and scheduling applications.
  • Experience in a role requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability.
  • Demonstrated ability to visually inspect boxes, packing slips, computed reports, and like objects.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a pallet jack and other materials handling equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a role working with healthcare supplies.
  • One year of healthcare-related distribution experience.
