Crisis Intervention Team Leadership Position

Franklin County Public Health is seeking a highly skilled Crisis Intervention Team Supervisor to oversee the Crisis Intervention Team section and manage the program and assigned personnel. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in social work or a related field and 3 years of directly related experience, including assessing physical, mental, social, and economic needs of diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the CIT Program to ensure a collaborative, coordinated plan of action that includes partnerships between the FCSO, the community, behavioral health and social service agencies, and advocates.
- Respond as part of the public safety team to provide therapeutic psychological assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, de-escalation, and social services linkage.
- Facilitate communication between FCSO and the behavioral health community, develop a foundation that promotes effective solutions for assisting those in crisis or with behavioral health challenges, and improve the crisis intervention training of officers.
- Collaborate with Care Coordination and Behavioral Health and Addiction Services to evaluate, design, and implement community outreach that helps prevent homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse issues in the community.
- Provide clinical oversight and clinical supervision to the Behavioral Health and Addiction Services (BHAS) Peer Support Specialist program and provide guidance and alignment to the BHAS harm reduction mobile outreach program.
- Provide expert advice and technical assistance and oversee the advice and technical assistance provided by the CIT team to communities and outside partners with respect to CIT activities.
- Build relationships and awareness of Crisis Intervention with the community and local neighborhoods, engage in community education, and familiarize self with neighborhoods and cultures in which citizens live.
- Collect and maintain statistical data on crisis incidents handled by FCSO and provide an annual report to make ongoing improvements to the FCSO response to crisis incidents.
- Assist in the development of Division and Section budgets and monitoring expenses against established budget.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work or other social service program.
- 3 years' directly related experience including assessing physical, mental, social, and economic needs of diverse populations.
- 2 years' experience in social work case management.
- Previous supervisory experience: demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative and work collaboratively; strong evaluation skills, excellent professional written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and active listening skills.
- Current licensure with the State of Ohio as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW); or Marriage & Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or, Licensed Professional Counselor.
- Ohio Driver's License.
- Trauma Informed Care certificate preferred.
