Metal Acquisitions Specialist

Salary:$50,000 - $60,000 per year
As a Non-Ferrous Material Kiosk Buyer at Harmon Scrap Metal in Columbia, TN, you will play a critical role in our scrap metal recycling operations. You will be responsible for welcoming customers and assisting them with their scrap metal sales. Your expertise in grading and pricing materials will ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a family-owned and operated scrap metal recycling company committed to honesty, fair pricing, and environmentally responsible processing. Our quick and decisive team is dedicated to satisfying our clients' needs. We're the trusted choice for manufacturers, contractors, or individuals selling scrap metal.
You will expertly grade and price our customers' materials, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. As needed, you will validate identification and paperwork before offering our customers a fair deal for their metal.
Additional responsibilities include checking our inventory every month, maintaining a clean and organized work area, operating small material-handling equipment, preparing materials for shipment, and performing other tasks as needed to ensure a successful day.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing position
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and move 50 lbs.
- Willingness to follow all safety standards, including wearing PPE
- High school diploma or equivalent
