Mammography Technologist Job Description

The Mammography Technologist plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. This position involves performing screening examinations of the breast using mammographic radiographic equipment and other necessary devices. The ideal candidate will provide patient care essential to breast imaging, optimize patient flow, and exhibit flexibility and adaptability to the unique needs of the Imaging department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service: Maximize utilization of Ultrasound services by preparing for diagnostic tests, viewing patient charts, inputting charges, and ensuring physician needs are met.
  • Service: Ensure Customer Satisfaction by performing diagnostic tests in a timely manner, escorting patients, explaining procedures, and assessing the need for additional follow-up exams.
  • Quality: Maintain exam rooms and equipment, ensuring all imaging equipment are up to date with preventative maintenance.
  • Quality: Maximize appointment efficiency and volume through work-ins and communication.
Requirements:
  • AART (M) certified in Mammography
  • Current BLS certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in mammography
