CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator-Programmer to join our team at General Technologies, Inc. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various types of CNC equipment, with a strong preference for experience with HAAS VF2 machine centers and HAAS ST25 lathes.
The CNC Operator-Programmer will be responsible for shop floor program editing, operating, and maintaining CNC machine centers, including vertical and horizontal mills and CNC lathes. The successful candidate will have experience with Fanuc and HAAS controls, as well as knowledge of CamWorks.
Key Responsibilities- Shop floor programming for initial operation, transfer, and editing
- Performing all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Knowledge and initiative to retrofit machines for operation as needed
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, with the ability to work with existing physical components to reproduce without prints
- Using gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Ability to setup, operate, and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills without assistance
- Ability to reduce setup time and machining through process improvements
- Proficiency with HAAS and FANUC control
- Understanding, interpreting, and editing G-code programming
- Recognizing, deploying, and properly using inserts, fixtures, and tooling
- Understanding and ability to perform tool wear offsets
- Assisting in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment
- Shop floor program transfer and editing
- Ability to setup and operate CNC machining centers
- Calculating and setting controls for proper machining
- Verifying conformity and quality of finished parts
- Selecting and maintaining tools and fixtures
- Performing all regular maintenance and accuracy checks to ensure proper machine function
- Consulting with the engineering department and production supervisor to resolve machining or assembly issues
- Providing constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
- Complying with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
- Communicating thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
- Communicating honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrating effective listening skills
- Certification or Associates Degree in Machine Technology, Precision Machining, or CNC Operations, or 5+ years related experience
- Prefer 5 years' experience in machining field or working in a machine shop
- Complete job routing
- Ability to communicate effectively and understand technical instructions
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Work overtime as necessary
Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, with the ability to work overtime and on weekends as needed
