Nursing Unit Manager Job Description

At Leewood August Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Unit Manager to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our nursing unit, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage a team of nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor patient care and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports, including patient charts and medication administration records.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
