Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Demolition and Crane Operations Inspector to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of crane operations and demolition activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the crane operation licensing program, including reviewing applications and conducting written examinations.
  • Conduct field inspections of demolition sites to ensure compliance with state codes and regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance to local officials and support them in enforcing demolition codes.
  • Investigate complaints and gather information to write detailed reports.
  • Testify at hearings and in court as necessary.
Requirements
  • Five (5) years of experience as a supervisor for a large demolition company or as a certified Class A demolition contractor, including extensive experience in crane operations.
  • A crane operator's license may be substituted for the experience in crane operations only.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CT licensed Crane Operator
  • Class A Demolition Contractor
  • Experience with computer software, including E-License
  • Knowledge of Crane & Demolition Statutes
