About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Section Supervisor to join our team in New York City. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrative professional to lead and coordinate with Medicaid agents, while ensuring excellent customer service.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and disseminating work to Team Supervisors of Medicaid Agents, determining staffing needs, assessing unit performance, and acting as a liaison to Medicaid Offices. Additionally, they will train staff in their duties, review HRA policies, and prepare supervisory reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and disseminate work to Team Supervisors of Medicaid Agents
- Determine the appropriate level of staffing needed for each unit and assesses the unit's ability to handle, timely, the kind and volume of telephone inquiries
- Act as a liaison to the Medicaid Offices and links caseworkers to Medicaid agents who can assist with client concerns, Intranet Quorum (IQ) escalations, and the interpretation of foreign languages spoken by clients
- Train unit supervision and staff in the performance of their duties and provides updates to HRA/unit policies and procedures
- Review HRA policies, guidelines, and program data to ensure that the appropriate and correct response is given to each inquiry
- Monitor the performance of staff to ensure that the guidelines for PAA I are adhered to
- Prepare supervisory reports by reviewing logs, PC-generated data, and conferring with subordinates
- Attend OCS staff meetings and provides information which will assist in the development strategies for intervention with other agencies, organizations, clients, and the community at large
- Monitor subordinates' time and leave to ensure adherence to agency code of conduct, dress code, and the time and leave procedures
- Maintain logs, manual, and PC-based files, required to track inquiries and responses
- Monitor the performance of Team Supervisors and completes performance evaluations
Requirements:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described above
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described above
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described above
Salary: The estimated salary for this role is around $75,000-$85,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards.
