Behavior Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Behavior Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires working with children and adults with special needs.

• Salary: $22/hour, paid weekly
• Location: Sarasota, FL

The successful candidate will work under the direction of a BCBA or teacher to implement behavior management techniques, provide crisis intervention, and review behavior intervention plans.

Essential Duties:

1. Follow instructions from supervisors and implement prevention strategies
2. Implement intervention and consequence strategies as needed
3. Provide crisis intervention when required
4. Review and implement behavior intervention plans
5. Assist in facilitating academic instruction at the direction of an instructor
6. Assist in facilitating SLP, OT, and PT development plans
7. Document sessions according to policies and procedures
8. Collect behavioral and academic data accurately and efficiently
9. Adhere to confidentiality requirements at all times
10. Assist students in developing independent daily living skills through self-care activities
11. Support students across various environments
12. Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of pediatric experience (preferred)
• Compliance with relevant professional standards of practice
• Participation in Amergis' Competency program (when applicable)
• Current CPR certification (if applicable)
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
• Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Successful completion of new hire training (as applicable to the job site)
• Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
• Strong communication skills, proficiency in English, and computer literacy
• Be at least 18 years old
