Horizon Health, a Critical Access hospital, is seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team. As a food service professional, you will play a vital role in preparing nutritious meals for patients and staff.

Job Summary:

  • We are offering a competitive salary of $32,500 - $40,000 per year, based on experience.
  • This position requires a High School education or equivalent and Food Service Sanitation Certification from IDPH (preferred).

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain hot and cold food temperatures according to established guidelines.
  2. Plan cooking schedules with the Supervisor to ensure timely food preparation.
  3. Confer with the Supervisor/Manager regarding modified diet preparation and use leftovers.
  4. Prepare, dip, and package foods according to procedures for Meals-On-Wheels.
  5. Ensure containers and serving trays are stocked with dishes, trays, tableware, cups, etc.
  6. Keep patient Kardex current by recording dietary changes as orders are received.
  7. Check menus before each meal, making additions and deletions as needed.
  8. Answer department telephone, taking messages and relaying information promptly.
  9. Serve employees and guests in the cafeteria line, greeting patrons cheerfully.
  10. Be flexible to meet patient care needs, cross-train, and accept assignments willingly.
