Pharmacy Billing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Billing Coordinator to join our team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate authorization and billing processes for specialty and high-cost medications.

Responsibilities- Interpret and summarize complex medical information to optimize access to funding sources
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, payors, and distributors
- Evaluate patterns in denied claims and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with Patient Financial Services to ensure seamless communication
- Serve as a resource for patients and staff regarding insurance and drug coverage questions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program
- Current Washington state pharmacy technician license
- 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
- Familiarity with generic names of drugs and basic indications
- Able to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations
- Previous experience in pharmacy billing
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and other medical terminology
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

Estimated Salary Range$33.40-$50.09 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
