Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Billing Coordinator to join our team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate authorization and billing processes for specialty and high-cost medications.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and summarize complex medical information to optimize access to funding sources
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, payors, and distributors
  • Evaluate patterns in denied claims and implement corrective actions
  • Liaise with Patient Financial Services to ensure seamless communication
  • Serve as a resource for patients and staff regarding insurance and drug coverage questions
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program
  • Current Washington state pharmacy technician license
  • 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
  • Familiarity with generic names of drugs and basic indications
  • Able to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in pharmacy billing
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and other medical terminology
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

Estimated Salary Range

$33.40-$50.09 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
