Anatomic Pathology Associate
UnityPoint Health is seeking a highly skilled Anatomic Pathology Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Anatomic Pathology section, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and quantity of the final Anatomic Pathology product.
Key Responsibilities
Receives, reviews, accessions and prepares samples for analysis and cytological exam
Ensures that each specimen/specimen type is appropriately identified, utilizes all patient identification safety barriers.
Follows QA guidelines for specimen handling, identification and processing
Operates, maintains, troubleshoots all equipment utilized within the Anatomic Pathology department
Follows procedures appropriate to specimen and requested testing, handles pre-analytic specimens for pathology in a timely and precise manner.
Enters specimens into laboratory computer systems. Edits/prints reports from laboratory computer systems.
Assists providers with specimen handling and processing for Frozen sections at all three Trinity Campuses to ensure adequate specimen and specimen integrity
Assists with Specimen collection and handling during Ultrasound guided procedures and Fine Needle Aspirates
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Technical Aptitude- ability to learn new systems quickly
