Radiology Technician Per Diem PRN Specialist

At SSM Health, we're looking for a skilled Radiology Technician to join our team on a per diem basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can utilize your skills and experience to make a real difference in patient care.
Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of this role is to take x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes. You will work closely with our imaging department to provide support and assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams.
Key Responsibilities- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide educational material as needed.
- Transport patients to and from clinical areas and verify patient identity according to policies and procedures.
- Assist technologists with filing, delivering, and retrieving patient reports and charts, matching films to folders, and delivering reports to patient units/physicians.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
- Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
- An associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program.
- One year of experience in a related field.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
- Radiographer, Licensed - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
- ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
