At Liberty Tax Service, we are seeking an exceptional Tax Return Specialist to join our team. This is a seasonal position that offers the opportunity to work with individuals and small businesses, preparing accurate tax returns and providing outstanding customer service.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping clients achieve financial success and compliance. They will be responsible for preparing individual and small business tax returns accurately and efficiently, reviewing financial records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Tax Returns: Prepare accurate and efficient individual and small business tax returns, utilizing tax preparation software and expertise in tax laws and regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and questions in a timely manner, conducting client interviews, and explaining tax return outcomes and offering tax planning advice.
  • Compliance and Accuracy: Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations through ongoing education and training, ensuring all returns are prepared in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and verifying the accuracy of data entered into tax software.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain organized and accurate records of all client interactions and tax returns, ensuring all required documents are filed correctly and securely.
Requirements
  • A strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
Education and Experience
  • An Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation.
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
