Certified Nursing Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Common Sail Investment Group. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide 1440 care to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Review resident care plans at the start of each shift to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
  • Bathe and clean residents as needed, maintaining their dignity and hygiene.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Make residents' beds and change linens as needed, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Feed residents requiring total or partial assistance with meals, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Answer calls lights promptly, ensuring residents' needs are addressed promptly.
  • Assist residents with bedpans, urinals, and bedside commodes, maintaining their dignity and hygiene.
  • Take and record vital signs, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the charge nurse.
  • Measure intake and output for residents as ordered, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Pass water to residents, ensuring they have access to hydration.
  • Clean wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, bedpans, and urinals as scheduled, maintaining a clean environment.
  • Report any unusual odors or colors of excreta to the charge nurse.
  • Assist in transporting, transferring, and ambulating residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Help maintain residents' personal dignity, treating them with respect and compassion.
  • Apply safety devices as directed by the nurse, checking them regularly to ensure residents' safety.

Accountabilities:

  • Display a professional attitude, demeanor, and dress at all times.
  • Utilize good organizational skills, working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Be flexible, adapting to changing situations and priorities.
  • Work effectively with residents, family members, associates, and visitors, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Be subject to varied working hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, including severe weather, evacuation, and post-disaster scenarios.
  • Maintain continuous physical movement, adapting to the needs of residents and the demands of the role.
