Dietitian

Job Summary:

The Dietician is responsible for ensuring that proper nutritional care is maintained for our residents. This includes working with the Food Service Director, Diet Technician, and other Dietary personnel to develop and implement nutrition plans that meet the individual needs of each resident.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepares and oversees initial nutritional assessments for all admitted residents
* Participates in assuring that regular and therapeutic diet menus are nutritionally adequate and meet facility diet manual requirements
* Works with the diet technician to coordinate weekly weights, meal patterns, nourishments, meal supplements intake and consistency appropriateness, intake study requirements and result, documentation requirements, transfer/discharge summaries, and tube feed reviews
* Continually counsels and educates patients, residents, family members, and facility personnel on proper therapeutic and essential nutrition in conjunction with a diet technician
* Monitors patient/resident meal, nourishment, supplement intake, and consistency appropriateness

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Dietetics/Nutrition
* Registered with American Dietetic Association
* One year of long-term care facility experience preferred
