Job Title: Direct Support Professional II

Institute for Community Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional II to join our team. As a DSP II, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to individuals with severe intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional II will provide a variety of levels of support and services to individuals with severe intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This includes encouraging, guiding, teaching, and advocating for individuals to promote their growth and independence.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and services to individuals with severe intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Encourage and guide individuals to promote their growth and independence
  • Teach and reinforce personal care skills, such as bathing, hair and nail care, and toileting
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as dressing, feeding, and medication management
  • Provide transportation to and from appointments and activities
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
