Clinical Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Upstate Family Medicine. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or health professional.
- Reviews and prepares patient charts prior to patient appointments.
- Performs various duties related to patient appointments and medical records, such as vital signs, problems, medications, pharmacy, and health history.
- Enters orders into EMR and obtains insurance authorizations for tests and DME, as indicated in provider notes/orders on patient visit date.
- Able to act as a liaison between patients, providers, office staff, and outside contacts.
- Cleans and restocks rooms.
- Notifies Team Leader and/or Nurse Manager of ordering supplies as needed.
- Works closely with Team Leader and/or Nurse Manager and/or secretary staff to address chart/scheduling issues.
- Assists providers with procedures.
- Prepares patients as required.
- Capable of collecting samples from patients, performing routine lab tests, and administering medications.
Requirements:
- NYS licensed/registered RN.
- Prior experience in an outpatient setting (specialty area) strongly preferred.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and standards of medical care.
