Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or health professional.
  • Reviews and prepares patient charts prior to patient appointments.
  • Performs various duties related to patient appointments and medical records, such as vital signs, problems, medications, pharmacy, and health history.
  • Enters orders into EMR and obtains insurance authorizations for tests and DME, as indicated in provider notes/orders on patient visit date.
  • Able to act as a liaison between patients, providers, office staff, and outside contacts.
  • Cleans and restocks rooms.
  • Notifies Team Leader and/or Nurse Manager of ordering supplies as needed.
  • Works closely with Team Leader and/or Nurse Manager and/or secretary staff to address chart/scheduling issues.
  • Assists providers with procedures.
  • Prepares patients as required.
  • Capable of collecting samples from patients, performing routine lab tests, and administering medications.

Requirements:

  • NYS licensed/registered RN.
  • Prior experience in an outpatient setting (specialty area) strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures and standards of medical care.
