Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Training Specialist to join our team at Natural Grocers. As a key member of our Training Center, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training content to store managers, assistant store managers, and department managers across various areas of instructional content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver instruction on inventory management processes, department management procedures, customer experience, safety and loss prevention, forklift safety, and store management responsibilities.
  • Create training programs and materials using various formats, including classroom coursework, activities, and manuals.
  • Train good4u University trainees in classroom, online webinar, and live store environments.
  • Act as an interdepartmental liaison for assigned projects and curriculum.
  • Communicate with Subject Matter Experts to ensure accurate instruction.
  • Manage communications from stores regarding process questions and provide needed support.
  • Order and maintain physical materials at the Training Center.
  • Occasionally travel to Natural Grocers stores to train store management and Crew.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year NGVC experience required.
  • Department Manager experience preferred, experience regularly using SAP strongly preferred.
  • Experience in developing training materials and/or providing structured in-person training strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Experience using Publisher, Camtasia, Adobe, and/or other digital content development tools preferred.

Physical Capabilities and Environmental Demands:

  • Must have the ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to frequently push or pull up to 15 lbs. and occasionally push or pull lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally use the computer for data entry and use of mouse.
  • Must be able to constantly walk, stand, use fine motor manipulations, grip, bend, twist, turn, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be able to frequently reach above chest.
  • Must be able to occasionally sit, squat, kneel, and climb as needed.

Environmental Requirements:

  • Must be able to frequently work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and congested worksite.
  • Must be able to occasionally work with noise, cold, heat, wet, humid, outside, heights, and contact stress.
