Job Description:

As an Automotive Frame Assembly Process Engineer, you will play a key role in designing processes for safe and efficient automotive frame assembly. You will use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Assembly Line production functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing balanced processes across manufacturing areas using M.O.S.T.
  • Achieving high Process Efficiency.
  • Applying Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Designing processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets.
  • Auditing big data to ensure accurate information across all Operations Standards.
  • Mobilizing Excel formulas and VBA coding to optimize tasks.
  • Leading meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics).
  • Performing time estimates for assembly line work, equipment loads, and developing Operation Standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Applying 5S work methods, workstation design, and setting best practices for production.
  • Evaluating and implementing ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
  • New Support Model Events. Forecasting design impact to department.
  • Incorporating change points into process design. Identifying concerns and countermeasures before mass production.
  • Maintaining accurate AutoCAD department layout.
  • Developing Plans and Schedules for projects.
  • Setting timelines and detailed activities. Holding meetings with cross-functional engineering groups to ensure completeness.
  • Project support for all items impacting Assembly department's Associate Process.
  • Collecting feedback from the production floor and addressing their concerns.
  • Reading Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.
  • Creating charts and presentations to report status and plans for key department metrics.

Requirements:

We are seeking individuals with:

  • 0-6 years of experience based on education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or Work Previous Experience of 6 years that is equivalent
  • Desired skills: Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
