Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in Billerica, MA. As a trusted business partner for the Operations and Senior Management Teams, you will play a critical role in planning, analyzing, and communicating key financial information through detailed reports and analysis of production costs related to three manufacturing facilities and all product families.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, collect, and analyze data to determine costs of product production, including raw material costs, labor, and overhead.
  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing processes to determine their impact on product costs.
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports and related analysis comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Assist in estimating the cost of new and proposed products.
  • Provide management with reports comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products, including current inflation trends.
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure proper inventory management, annual physical inventory validations, and daily cycle counts are performed in accordance with policy.
  • Establish overhead rates for inventory and labor and update as necessary.
  • Participate in the monthly financial close, including inventory account reconciliation and analysis, gross margin analysis, and various other reconciliations as assigned.
  • Prepare and lead presentations of inventory balances and key drivers to Senior Management.
  • Support the Controller and operations managers with cost analysis, process modifications, and system-related troubleshooting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in related cost accounting.
  • Strong proficiency with office productivity applications (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with integrated ERP software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
