Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Trial Budget Specialist to join our team at Rush University Medical Center. As a key member of the Cancer Clinical Trials Office, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial and operational activities of the Cancer Center.

Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and draft complex clinical trial budgets, negotiating mutually satisfying terms and conditions with external entities. You will also be responsible for preparing management reports, including daily revenue reports, monthly revenue/expense variances, and budget summaries.

In addition, you will coordinate the flow of financial data, including collection, maintenance, and updating of data to support the development, analysis, and monitoring of various departmental processes or functions. You will also support departmental leadership in the process of developing the annual operating/capital budget, the long-term financial plan, and the periodic reforecast.

As a Clinical Trial Budget Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work closely with physicians, leadership, committees, and staff to ensure the successful execution of clinical trials. You will also be responsible for creating, managing, and tracking chargeback methodologies for functions related to clinical trials and interacting with other entities throughout the institution.

Responsibilities
  • Support Clinical Investigators with sponsored clinical trials by generating and developing clinical trials budgets
  • Negotiate clinical trials budgets with external entities for industry-sponsored clinical trials
  • Prepare management reports as assigned
