Overview:
San Mateo-Foster City Elementary is committed to providing high-quality education to its diverse student body. To achieve this goal, the district seeks a highly skilled Registered Behavior Technician.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience working with students in special education and hold a current Safety Care certification. This position requires strong communication skills, empathy, and patience when interacting with students who may require additional support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting teachers and other educational professionals in creating tailored learning plans for each student. This will involve observing student behavior, documenting progress, and implementing strategies to promote social-emotional development and academic growth.

San Mateo-Foster City Elementary serves over 10,500 students from preschool through eighth grade, representing 50 languages spoken at home. Job Responsibilities:
This role involves working closely with educators, administrators, and other support staff to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed academically and personally. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing individualized behavioral plans to address specific student needs
  • Collaborating with teachers to design inclusive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and updating plans as necessary
  • Communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding behavioral interventions and academic performance

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent and hold a valid Registered Behavior Technician certification. A minimum of three years of professional experience working with students in a special education setting is also required. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to equity, access, and inclusion. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Estimated Salary:
$65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience.
