Job Summary

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist plays a critical role in optimizing patient outcomes by monitoring medication therapy and overseeing the use of antimicrobial medications. This position requires a strong clinical knowledge of drugs and disease, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other hospital personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor medication therapy to optimize patient outcomes
  • Oversee and direct the use of antimicrobial medications to ensure their appropriate utilization
  • Assist in the management of the Department of Pharmacy and supervision of department staff
  • Perform duties of a registered pharmacist
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D.
  • Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency or 2-3 years' experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting
  • Current license by the State of Illinois as a Registered Pharmacist
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge of drugs and disease
