Faculty Position in Occupational Therapy

The University of Saint Mary, a leading institution for higher education, is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join its team. Located near Kansas City, our campus offers a unique blend of academic rigor and professional opportunity.

We are looking for an individual who shares our commitment to providing students with a comprehensive education in occupational therapy. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and advising students, engaging in scholarly activity, and contributing to the development of the OTD program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach within your area of expertise, utilizing your knowledge and experience to inspire and educate students.
  • Advise and mentor students, providing guidance and support throughout their academic journey.
  • Contribute to the OTD program's scholarship agenda, advancing the field of occupational therapy through research and innovation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement integrated curriculum, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education.
  • Participate in university service and professional development, staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Cultivate a positive work culture, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all employees and students.
  • Comply with program policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Attend required USM meetings and events, staying informed about campus developments and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Earned professional occupational therapy doctoral degree, demonstrating expertise in the field.
  • Hold a current Kansas license in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • Evidence of 6 months of clinical practice experience, showcasing your ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.
  • Previous experience teaching and mentoring at the college/university level, highlighting your capacity to engage and inspire students.
  • Broad understanding of occupational therapy education and practice, reflecting your commitment to the field and its ongoing development.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and tuition remission for employees and dependents under 24 years old.
