Medical Assistant Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at WellMed. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and nursing personnel with patient care
  • Perform various clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and families

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
  • Basic computer literacy and intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to react calmly in emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Bilingual
