Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician to conduct medical assessments for veterans. This role involves reviewing medical records, conducting in-depth evaluations, and completing VA-provided Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through a secure online portal. The primary goal is to assist the VA in making accurate disability determinations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and Analyze Medical Records: Utilize a secure web portal to review veterans' medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Perform thorough, non-treating assessments of veterans to document current health conditions, leveraging expertise in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Complete DBQs: Accurately complete and submit VA-specific DBQs within 24 hours of the assessment, capturing all relevant medical findings.
- Meet Quality and Timeliness Standards: Ensure high-quality DBQs are submitted on time, adhering to the VA's requirements.
- Assess Multiple Veterans Daily: Evaluate up to four veterans daily, maintaining productivity while delivering exceptional results.
Schedule and Requirements:
This federal work allows individuals with any current United States state license to travel throughout Alaska. To be eligible, candidates must possess an active MD or DO license with a specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred, but completed residency in a relevant specialty is also considered.
Compensation and Benefits:
MRG Exams offers a competitive fixed daily rate of $1300+ per day, along with coverage of travel expenses. Strong typing skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
