FEMA Construction Specialist

The FEMA Construction Specialist is responsible for scheduling and conducting site inspections, performing accurate quantification and detailed descriptions of disaster-related damage, and taking photographs and completing sketches of sites.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years of in-field experience or 2 years of in-field experience with a bachelor's degree. High school diploma or equivalent is required, and domestic travel is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and conduct site inspections
- Perform accurate quantification and detailed descriptions of disaster-related damage
- Take photographs and complete sketches of sites
- Engage technical specialists when appropriate
- Obtain applicant representatives' agreement on damage descriptions and quantification
- Develop scopes of work using code and standard requirements
- Evaluate applicant-provided cost claims for reasonableness
- Participate in and assist with the development of final determinations
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain a FEMA Badge
- Background investigation for a Public Trust position
