Job Title: FEMA Construction Specialist

The FEMA Construction Specialist is responsible for scheduling and conducting site inspections, performing accurate quantification and detailed descriptions of disaster-related damage, and taking photographs and completing sketches of sites.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of in-field experience or 2 years of in-field experience with a bachelor's degree. High school diploma or equivalent is required, and domestic travel is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and conduct site inspections
  • Perform accurate quantification and detailed descriptions of disaster-related damage
  • Take photographs and complete sketches of sites
  • Engage technical specialists when appropriate
  • Obtain applicant representatives' agreement on damage descriptions and quantification
  • Develop scopes of work using code and standard requirements
  • Evaluate applicant-provided cost claims for reasonableness
  • Participate in and assist with the development of final determinations

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a FEMA Badge
  • Background investigation for a Public Trust position
