About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Specialist to join our team at Parkland Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and leadership in designated specialty areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical practitioner duties in designated specialty areas, obtaining histories, performing physical exams, making assessments, and ordering tests to determine diagnoses and plan of care.
  • Record health history, findings, treatment, and recommendations accurately and clearly, managing time effectively to ensure optimal use of patient and provider resources.
  • Include patients and/or families in determining the plan of care when appropriate, educating them on self-management, follow-up, and compliance with established treatment.
  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure continuous quality care and promote positive health outcomes with a focus on good customer service and patient satisfaction.
  • Identify work processes and flows for the assigned department, suggesting changes to improve work effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of PHHS or the area.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, or Master's Degree in Nursing accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).
  • Experience: 2 plus years of clinical experience as an Advance Practice Provider (APP) in any field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
